Such a close game!!! Loving these new CA missions. Great playing guys!
Hey guys.. faq stats hellforged units can only be healed by kills in the fight phase.. it recorded the phrase from the chaos armour book. Just thought I’d mention it as it’s discussed at the start
U guys are hilarious!!! Never change that about the videos
of course the Count is Lawrence’s favorite, THAT’S MATHEMATICS
Mr Spider, I believe you forgot to attack the Cultists on the 1:02 hr mark with the Reavers bladevanes, you could have finished them off! I’m sure viewers do realize you get silly when you are tired.
Mr. Beard! Your Daemon Prince could have heroically intervened the flyer that was next to him in the charge phase!
Unless he didn’t have wings? But I thought he did.
Beard I love your new IW list 🙂 seems like it was really good 🙂
Good game!
Beatiful armies. Really happy to see the new entries in the iron warriors.
I think a potentially important roll could have been combat in the drukari turn if they wanted to stay on the objective. Maybe they would have been cleared over the two combat phases. Still a nail biter though, thanks!
Beard could have broken the Leviathan just far enough to hold the center objective yet far enough to stay 1″ away from the witches (assuming he passes the 4+). Then let the other units shoot them off the objective instead of attempting to squish them in combat.
The Iron Warriors look amaaaazing! Love that army!
Oh, and Incubus
Mr. Beard I love your list! This is Exactly what I think of when i think about iron warriors, big tanks and seige engines!
Hellforged units are all of the FW tanks and Dreads, so the Hellwright could have given them +1A and Ld. Also, he couldn’t repair them because the FAQ says that Hellforged units can ONLY repair by killing in CC and regaining wounds. Don’t forget that your Sicarans are actually decent in CC! Finally on that point, FW says to use Archmagos Drakyavac for the Hellwright, who fits on a 50mm base and is not very tall. I linked to the Warhammer Community page in question when you did the list analysis on Alpha Legion, I think. Beard, yours is WAY… Read more »
You guys should do more narrative campaigns!
The one off battles are fun but getting a few more stories running would be awesome!
Super fun bar rep guys! Thanks as always.
Quick notes and I hope I’m right here: the incubus only gives rerolls in the fight phase, and the haemonculous has a base toughness of 4 but it becomes a 5 with his own ability.
A little bit of cheating from the Spider this time. There are no Haywire granades anymore, a Succubus does not provide rerolls in the shooting phase and has no Plasma Granades available!
Hey Beard, don’t know if anyone else has mentioned it, but Helverins have 4D3 shots…! ? Really good game, good to see the hellwright making an appearance, and I love the conversion. Also, was the Sicaran in range for linebreaker at the end…?
Why didnt beard heroically intervene with the Deamon Prince into the flyer on the hour mark, he could have brought the flyer down quite easily and its perfectly within the rules
Nice report, also great to see that the dice didn’t influence it too much. Both Beard and Lawrence rolling relatively normal for a change! Quick bit of feedback: please play out the last turns properly. I understand it takes time to do so, but I’d prefer it if you just play and not film and maybe cut to it again at the last moment to show us how it was done if time/energy becomes an issue. It became really messy now, the ‘talking through’ the turns. For example, Beard could only have scored the objective in Lawrence’s deployment zone at… Read more »
is the first game that you guys have filmed still available to watch?
Great battle report guys! Very useful to remind how important it is to play to the mission, specially post chapter approved! Just a pair of little tidbits for Lawrence to remember, leaving aside the rusted-armigers incident! I´m sure you already know most of them but only to make sure in case it helps: – The Haemonculus does indeed have toughness 5, thanks to its own aura! – The lightning reflexes from the succubus allows her to dodge shots on a 4+, unlike the lesser wytches… – … but its reroll aura does not apply to attacks in the shooting phase… Read more »
Hey guys nice bat rep and it’s been great you’ve kept releasing stuff over the xmas break! Know it must be a lot of work and without a holiday but it’s been awesome having regular great content! Just a rules thing which I only recently learned – you mentioned in Drukhari first turn assault phase that if Beard removed 2 cultists, then you wouldn’t be able to attack with the reivers. However, I just learned that RaW, if a unit completes a charge, then they can pile in and consolidate, regardless of whether they are within an inch of an… Read more »
Well played you both! It was a joy to watch! I wonder what would have happened if you remembered Crazed for the Helbrute after fighting the Talos. I know it is only a 6, but it would be epic.
Btw Flamehead is the best cultist leader ever.
I forgot to say though, and this is important Tabletop Tactics so listen up, it was a great game to watch, I think I’ve been guilty of giving too much criticism in the past and not enough love, especially since I’m probably not nearly as much of a rule stickler as I seem to suggest. I love me those Mandrakes, is it silly of me to inquire as to whether you could make a super competitive Drukhari list with them? Because they seem to have it all, fairly decent shooting with mortal wound output, a delivery mechanism in deep strike,… Read more »
Great game thanks, i played the same mission last week, was winning right up to turn 6, turn 7 saw me wiff and i lost by two points… These new missions are really good!! They bring back the “one the wire” of wargaming 🙂
Really one helluva nostalgic battrep, how many years that was? A little more than 4? What a journey. You have crossed the power level 9000 sometime ago and I just can’t imagine what you gonna become once you move to a new studio…
Also good to see the Spider around for some regular battreps.
PS. Going back in time 8th edition is so much better balanced that any other before. Can’t believe they are actually balancing the game now
Drukhari are famous for bringing a lot of guns but today IW who are funnily enough considered overpriced for what they do had more dakka even at 170p disadvantage (or what is a price of one Helverin)
Hey Beard! I know there’s another like 300 comments saying it but Helverines have 2D3 shots per gun! Isn’t it a good job I typed it out again!?
You’re welcome!
#helping
Helverins are 2d3 per cannon and they have 2 – i feel you missed an oppurtunity there
Beard you could have heroically intervened into the spiders flyer turn 1 with your daemon prince and rippped it out the sky! That would have been epic
Another brilliant video, team! But whats the music over the montage of model shots at the start? I want that as my entrance music for any future tournaments I go to!
Incubus, a male sucubus is an incubus
And Hellwright could fire both the flamer and voidcutter
The Leviathan could have moved out of combat with the Wyches during Beard’s turn 6 (but possibly still be close enough to ‘claim’ the objective in the centre? The camera seems to suggest you could keep relatively close still), allowing the two sicarian’s now in Spider’s objective and possibly that other squad of Chaos Marine’s to pour shot into that unit and likely wipe it out, meaning he could own it for potentially the next turn. Nvm, Spider’s wyches had some tricksy rule that you couldn’t Fallback out of combat. Of course, I think the game would have been very… Read more »
Looks like the Gsc are waiting in their trucks for the day of “holy crap, we finally got a codex!” amidst this battle grid
Someone tell Mr Beaed a Helverin has two armiger autocannons so that is 4 D3 shots not 2???
I think he needs to join Mr Bone in going back to Knight School! ?????
The male equivalent of a Succubus is an Incubus 🙂
Is Beard cheating himself out of Autocannon shots for his Armigers in his first turn? Aren’t they 2D3 shots per autocannon, and the Armiger has 2 of them, so 4D3 shots all up?
