Stig your camera work and commentary has improved a lot!! You are getting very good at it and I hope we get to see more videos with you working the camera to give Bone and Lawrence a break. Great game. Always love watching you guys!

that was a game of dice really rather than tactics. Stig was just luckier when it mattered but i dont think either of you did anything wrong. good game though dont stop with the top quality production either 🙂

Loving the new intro – the music at some points were a lot louder than your speaking though

Great to see the new studio coming along!

Clearly you guys have new cameras the quality is noticeably different. I like you have multiple angles now and really look forward to the overhead shots. But i echo some of the other comments below, a little to much flicking between them in the intro.

I like the new way you are going to do the lists, but generally the loud music over you talking makes it hard to follow.

All for removing the backdrops as well.

Other than that all looks awesome, look forward to the new changes coming soon.

Nice to see the new studio coming along. This was great but the background music over the intro and list analysis was really loud and distracting.

While I am so looking forward to TT v2.0, that underlaying music is really, really annoying. I hope you rethink that.

So exciting to see you guys playing in the new place and trying new things. I’m all in favour of ditching the backdrops and really looking forward to seeing the overhead camera shots you talked about. The multiple camera angles for the conversations is interesting but felt very overused. I find it especially awkward when you are looking at the middle camera but we are looking at you from the side. Interrupting the lists with music didn’t work well for me either – the cinematic shots are cool, just keep your voices over them. Keep up the great work you… Read more »

Really like the new way of showing the army lists. Did you guys get some new cameras as the pictures looked lot crisper and cleaner if you catch my drift, that or my internet has suddenly improved.
I like the different camera angels during the discussion. A lot of things are stuff you guys can figure out on whether they work or not for you during this small transitional period.
But great first game with all the new terrain, looking forward to everything you are bringing to the table 🙂

Stig was rolling hot in this one. Then I noticed he had Lawrence’s red dice…. Bone, you need to grab those next time. 🙂

Hey guys, just wanted to post a general thank you so much for the feedback!

As we said, we’re trying a few things out and you’ll probably see some more ideas over the next few shows. That means the feedback is really super valuable as we look to improve and bring the level up whilst retaining the spirit of what you love about shows from the old TT studio!

FEEDBACK – I found the camera flicking a bit annoying sorry guys. And the flicking in and out to each detachment didn’t do it for me, I feel just showing the detachments at the end of the army description would suffice. I really don’t think you needed to change much anyway you guys are the best batrep channel going. The reason you guys are so successful is because of…you guys! Your personalitys and love of the game comes across in each report. I honestly don’t think you need to change anything actually filming wise. Do more epic story driven campaigns… Read more »

FEEDBACK Like lots of people here, think the music over the intros is a bit loud and unnecessary. Not a fan of the music itself and much prefered the old style of no music during the intros. Music over the batrep itself was spot on as usual. Camera cuts were a bit annoying as they were very frequent. Nothing wrong with talking straight to the camera during the intro. Did enjoy the new graphics and stylised shots of the armies during the intro. This batrep did feel a lot like the new 30min batrep channel and I feel a big… Read more »

FEEDBACK – Changing the camera angle every few seconds during the introduction is distracting and needless! And why have music in the background when you are talking so quietly ? Adding in things simply extends the editing process.

Black t-shirts vs black curtains? It makes you look like back-stage guys in the wrong place.

I ended up fast forwarding through that section (24+ minutes seemed long in a short BATREP).

“Weaning us off things ?” some of these are features that we’ve signed up for and made this channel distinct from other sources.

Oh man, that didn’t go well for the Necrons! It was just mainly luck going wrong though. Just one thing that you shouldn’t miss out on Bone, is that with MWBD and Methodical Destruction, tesla goes off on 4+! 😀 As for feedback on the “new way of doing things”, I think it just needs some getting used to, but I really prefer no music in the background while you talk. Also, the “cutscenes” are slightly annoying. I understand you are trying to get the reports to the next level, but the one thing I really enjoy about TTT is… Read more »

Great to see the first battle report in the new (temporary) space! I liked a lot of the new features including the black backdrops. I found the music at the start a little distracting though – too aggressive / loud. The new camera angles where neat. Jumping between them too frequently however was distracting. On the whole I am super excited for the new studio and everything you guys are doing. Keep up the great work!!

Fantastic battle report! Love having the robot men back. A couple of points of constructive criticism and some stuff I really liked. -I wouldn’t switch camera angles to the side view when they’re looking into the main camera, it seems awkward. If you shot the video like a discussion where Stig and Bone were looking at each other the camera angles wouldn’t matter as much but I’d still cut down on the switching like others have said. -I’d personally prefer not to have the intros interrupted but if you feel they’re too long you can always make them more concise… Read more »

Great battle report. I’ll add to what others have said, the music breaks up the conversation and is too loud. Multiple cameras is great, but overused, it’s better when you are speaking directly to camera. Although they looked awesome, I’m glad that you lost the backdrops, they looked like a hindrance. Chuffed that Bone rolled the first 6 and a seize no less.

Excellent first batrep in the new places guys. Feedback wise. a) I think the opening and closing music is too loud over your voices and drowns you out. b) The army list jump cuts would work better if, rather than cutting from you talking to a musical cinematic, you cut to the cinematic of the army and your voices continued over the top. I think it would be a smoother transition and tie the list building into with the images. Other then that, loving the black box and (much like Bone) very glad the back board is now gone. Keep… Read more »

Guys I thought the cameras jumped around just a bit too frequently when you were doing the list intros but the overlays with the lists were really nice and the panning shots of models and the armies were well done.

Stig rolled great, brutal first turn for him and I really enjoy seeing the AdMech they’re such a nice army with some really cool models and tricks.

Great fun as always. I’m seconding Stig-o-Vision or maybe Stig-o-Scope.

I really enjoyed the way the lists were introduced.
Multiple cameras on the go is cool.
Always good to see Stig bringing a list.

It’s nuts that they let Adeptus Mechanicus (potentially) get a 2+ invulnerable save, but nerf the Warp Surge strategem to only give a 4+ (thus making it kinda pointless for Tzeentch Daemons). But yeah I agree with Bone that 2+ invulnerable saves shouldn’t be in the game, but on the plus side at least mortal wounds exist now.

John Barber

Yes mortal wounds from the same unit will go onto itself, because mortal wounds over spill.

Not going to comment yet on the changes too much as I know you’re experimenting other than Stig’s camera work was great, lack of the table boards I think is an improvement and maybe there was too much chop and change with the camera in the intro.

Was a wierd game. Bone you didn’t seem to do anything wrong and had a strong list. Stig you didn’t roll hugely well apart from those 4++ ups on the Helverine but I think in this case the fact it’s your main army shone through (I think). Great to watch still though.

My first bit of feedback is that I think the music goes on for too long during the list analysis (and is a bit too loud – although I’m using earphones so that could be it). That may be because I think that may be a bit longer because you splice awesome footage of the lists while you’re talking about it? But you did that earlier as well even if you didn’t have the nice Overlay that says what detachments you’re using. I do like the lack of backdrops. I think they’re great during the opening shots or the like,… Read more »

wow, this looks realy good… well done. Good to see stig (ys viii) back :-).
I just have one rules question, are you sure that you can disembark from a vehicle that arrives from reserves? I thought that the modles have to get out before the vehicle moves… and does not the arrival from researves count as the end of the movement of the unit?

Great Batrep as always guys. Realy enjoyed it. I really like the new style you are about to implement. Just one thing: The background music is a little loud in comparison to your voice level.
Keep up the good work!

Well done gents, did not see that coming at all. In regards to the format, it was a nice change to how things have been running. I highly approve of removing the backdrops, I agree with Stig in that they made things awkward even though they were pretty. Very interested to see the new angles Bone mentioned. Lastly, are we going to get to see CADmus Bane in ‘The Box’!!!??? (and when will we get to see him and Celestine reunite??)

Well done, big fan love the changes except the background music. So distracting but still that just my oppion. Talk more. More talk from you guys is always entertaining. Funniest battle reports out there. Onwards and upwards. X

Always excited for Stig and his Admech. Well played for sure. The Necron list was loaded for firepower with the 3 Arks and the multiple destroyer units, but with a list like that, each unit lost is such a hit to overall efficacy.

Excited for all the new tricks and effects that the new studio will bring. Sad for the loss of back drops, but I will adjust. Change is good! And as others have mentioned, the switching camera is good, but maybe a bit heavy.

Anyhow, brutal but entertaining report. The new era begins!

Really liking the new style, guys. I quite like the background music esp during the lists – gives a kind of marauding, anticipatory ambience to the narrative. The various panning camera shots when you introduce units is (when combined with the music), serious sick. The switching camera angles is cool too and almost gives a ‘pace’ to the intro – would second what others have said re frequency being a bit high. All in all – looking and sounding good!

Also great to see a Terrax drill! My Wolves have been loving theirs – v cinematic too in my mind.

I quite liked this battle report. Necrons vs AdMech is super thematic as well. Good job gents. I will add my own opinion that I liked the way of doing lists and I liked the music as well but I do think it was too loud to hear the speaking in some instances. So it was only a volume issue for me.

Most of the things have probably been said already, but I am assuming the more feedback the better 🙂 Some constructive criticism: – the music is alright if it is in the background, no need to cut off your speech since as many have pointed out, some of the best humor comes from the freeflowing banter you guys have. I’ve watched quite a few bat rep channels and while they offer different approaches and levels of quality, none of them manage to be nearly as FUN as you guys. You have a great cast where every single member is awesome,… Read more »

Hey guys, the more feedback the better I guess, so here goes. – I think the multicam set up is nice but the amount of switching seemed to high to me. It didn’t always make sense to switch angles. – I liked the music, although I do think (like others) that it would be better if its a little more subdued while you guys continue talking about the lists. The contrast is a little high. – I really liked the cuts/fades/whathaveyous between the unit/army shots and the guys talking. Combined with the music I think it makes the whole intro… Read more »

Great game guys! I’m super excited for the new studio!! I agree with the criticisms here for the most part. There were too many angles during the intro/outgoing filming. I am severely prone to motion sickness and was actually getting woozy from all the changes in camera angle. I love the text over the film while showing the units so I can read what they are. I think you should show the units while you discuss them as it slowed down the list review a lot by having a pause after saying what the unit was and then showing it.… Read more »

I don’t comment often and I see plenty of comments here with criticism, its a new thing so it will correct itself just from getting used to it, my only one was the volume of the music. My ears were destroyed by years of being a machine gunner in the infantry, so the volume made it super hard to hear speech without focusing really really hard, and I especially do not expect you guys to cater to me, but I know if it was hard for me to hear it really at all then even most people probably would find… Read more »

Constructive crit: List music good (genre/tone), speech levels too low (add compressor maybe), multicam good, choice of cuts/edits too frequent and sometimes jarring when looking to camera etc.

Lists: the voiceover could continue over the model feature transitions/cuts while we look at the pretty models.

Also, the typography of the titles etc could use some hierarchy between sizes weights etc.

Overall happy with the new direction!
