Great bat rep. I really enjoyed it.
However, the scrapjets need to stay in coherency because they are 1 unit and don’t split.
I have been waiting all month to spider play. Great match… loved it. What was also good is not have Necrons, Tyranids or those damn Tau. We at the first legion want more of the emperor’s finest on the field of play. Orks are ok… good for making sure your bolter is well worn in. Moire spider less critters. I guess we are going to see a lot more of the necrons… brimg on the ladies…

Please roll a dice after shooting with flash gitz… 6+ and they just go again, and again, and again… A perfectly balanced, silly orky ability. In kill team I have turned 4 shots into 20 with it!
That said, you did a lot better than I did in my first game of 9th with the orks… Absolute pasting at the hands of the Tau.
Roll on what ever you are excited about in the future! Cannot wait!
This dynamic is always so wonderful, regardless of the game outcome. It’s just great to see two chaps who are obviously great friends and who have a flair for the dramatic playing a game together. Almost makes me nostalgic for the months where it was just the two of you (but of course I love the rest of the gang too much to ever want to go back). Keep up the good work!
I love Bone and I love the Orks!
As a rules note though, stratagems cannot be used on embarked units (like the flashgitz). So Bone can save the disappointment of wasting CP next time! I’m still watching the first turn so maybe this was caught already.
Not sure if anyone has pointed this out already – Bone said that if the Deffkilla Wartrike hadn’t died he was going to fight again, however the stratagem for Ork Characters to fight again is specifically for when they have just died.
Perhaps he was actually referring to some other unit fighting again?
Why no rolling VP scores? Too depressing for Bone? Poor Bone. I got steamrolled like this by a demon bomb list. They were on every objective on turn with flesh hounds. I scored like 5 VPS the whole game and my opponent was max points.

Just one thing on the Ramshackle rule, it doesnt reduce the damage BY 1, it reduces it TO 1. 😉 So the trukk could have survived if you would have rolled a 6 on the last 4 dmg he took. 😀

Good game guys and great to see the knights of titan and the spider out again. Despite the bad/good luck for each respective player, this game was definitely a highlight on how important board control is, grots are just too damm squishy to be worth it now. I think your best bet might be 10 man boys units in trukks, the whole package went up a mere 11 points and gives you a nice blob of wounds to just sit on objectives.

The Orks are well painted, but I don’t understand the green colour choice for the vehicles. Green on green.. I think a different colour would have been a better choice.

sure the “Follow me Ladz!”-WT enhances the Deffkilla Wartrikes “SPEEDWAGH!” aura to 9″? It only says “WAGH!” ability if I am right. He would simply get a 3″ “WAGH!” ability on top of his 6″ “SPEEDWAGH!” ability.
Great batrep, as a new GK and 40K player, I’m always super eager to see them in action.
Have you guys ever considered creating a Tabletop Tactics soundboard app so that all of us fans who play games can have the sounds of TT TV at our own games? I’d love to hear things like…:
Spider: “That’s four wounds there!”
Bone: “My bag of beeeeeeees!”
Beard: “Seven! *SEVEN!* THAT’S THE BLESSED NUMBER!”
And other such noises and statements that appear in every single batrep/tactica/narrative etc etc

Fantastic production value as always, best there is! As an ork player you really can make vehicle lists work, I promise! Go deathskulls and minimum squad sizes for the sweet sweet re-rolls. Stand out units with deathskulls are:
Megatrakk Scrapjets, Shokkjump Dragstas, Deff Dreads (deep strike), and squads of 3 bikers with power klaws in each.
When will we see the next Tactica?
Bone vs. Spider is always my favorite clash!
I’m curious what the plans are for the Tactica series with 9th edition? Unless I am mistaken the missions are much the same so it would only be an alteration in the list building and play style potentially? Either way, looking forward to seeing where you take that!

A quick question, where can i find the rules changes to GK Smite? There is no change in the GK FAQ or the FAQ for RotD…. I’m just wondering were you can find this?
Does Duty’s Eternal half damage…. i thought it was just -1 damage after an FAQ… maybe flash gits are 2 damage or something.

Have Bone ever won? Personally I don’t like going into a match knowing which side is gonna win >95% (99.9%?) of the time. It’s like Formula 1, which I also love watching. Who will win today? I’ve been playing mono orks since the start of 8th. Besides bikes that are absolute trash (341pts for 12 lol), flash gitz that have a solid datasheet imo, but got a Huge point hike for nothing (24pts to 32pts, really GW) the Flyers & shock attack gun (RIP) I feel orks are not as bad off as peeps seems to think. Played 5 games of 9th so far (semi-competitive) against different armies each time, won 4 of them (only lose was against grey knights haha). As much fun as all the other games are, it is always good to see a slightly harder edged game with Lawrence. I do feel sorry for Bone a little having to take on Lawrence with Orks though. I think if he was using one of ‘his’ factions that have done well coming into 9th like DG or SW it could have been a lot closer.

On a less gameplay related note: What does everyone think about Grey Knights and Primaris? Should the GK remain as the last bastion for the old school marines? Or should they start bringing in Primaris recruits one day?
Primaris proportions and GK detailing would look amazing, but Terminators are central to the Grey Knights and Gravis doesn’t quite have the same feel. I’m not sure either way, so maybe somebody can sway me.

Isn’t fury of the proven +1 to hit for a model in a unit not the whole unit.
I have noticed melee armies are much stronger in this edition, time will tell if it is over done one way or the other. I have noticed that you say the points are stop gaps and not final, which is good, but may i ask if using power may be a more balanced option at this time? I am using power right now to build a few lists to teach the kids how to play 9th.

Marines of all stripes are just off the charts at the moment. If you want to film interesting and balanced games featuring marine factions you need to run them against the best most optimized lists that other factions can bring. Orks do still have some competitive 9th edition builds that can at least put up a fight against Marines. But warbikers are just terrible, at almost 300 points a unit under these new silly points values you just can’t bring them. Is it just me or is the whole teasing about “something will happen” driving you also away from the hobby? The return of the primarchs has reawakened my interest in Warhammer 40k a couple of years ago. I’ve started in 2nd Edition and came back sometime in 8th Edition. Some guys and even the owner of my FLGS advised me to wait for 9th Edition because a lot of stuff is suppoed to change. Hi guys, more specifically Grey Knight experts. I was just wondering if you could deepstrike a character with the 3″ range stratagem (dynamic Insertion), use inner fire power with the range extender (Powerful Adept) then use gate of infinity to take it back to safety? It seems to me that you can use gate on a unit that has moved already so why not one that had deep striked already.
I’m feeling ranty, today… I’m really thankful for the job you do and the effort you put in filming enjoyable games, ’cause I have to say that with all those unbalanced points it’s difficult to really have “feel good” evening playing with my friends, there’s too much saltiness and reproach against GW. We all know that it’s just a question of being patients, we trust you on that, but every time I try to play it boggles me they would release points so badly done. Orks have a lot of potential but lack consistency. The GK just murdered them. There is a moment in turn one for the Orks I thought ‘they have board control, knights have castled up, Orks are gonna pin them with bikes and shoot them with gorkanought and flashgitz. Use the gretchin as smite screen. Imagine my surprise at how they dealt with that. Unlucky bone. Stick with the Orks. They are the most fun faction. They need you.
Just a general question re: 9th, near the end where the Bikers charged that immortal Interceptor unit engaged with the Ork vehicle. After Bone fluffed his rolls, Lawrence declared they would all attack these bikers. (@1:42:36 markish) Could they actually do that? I thought to attack they have to be within 1/2″ an inch of a model or 1/2″ an inch of a model who is within half an inch, but it was my thought that the rear most Grey Knight couldn’t move in any case because he was in contact with the Ork vehicle? Or am I making rules… Read more »
