Another master class on movement, positioning and target priority by Spider. Excellent game. Mike, great to see you challenging the Spider, I hope you can up your game next time you face him! I felt those terminators were really out of position and that hurt your late game. Two 1’s on advance rolls are bad, maybe a reroll was a good idea there. I’m looking forward to the rest of the league, great to see it has returned.

Great game. Not to discredit Spider of his victory, he played fantastically, but Mike’s saves really betrayed him in the early mid-game. Those Bladeguard just folded immediately.
Great to see the league return! Mike dealt with some abysmal dice showing class and good humour. A very close game and excited to see the rest of the matches. Both Katie and Joe are taking powerful factions, so there is still all to play for.
Loved this game, great pairing and super intense! Mike my heart went out to you with your rolls and with the “what is happening” moment – we’ve all been there but, brutal!
Have you gone over why you’ve gone part time Chef? Ngl, I’ve been hanging out for a beard v chef match for ages.
Not usually one for a competitive game but this was a cracker. Still don’t like the lethality of 10th etc but for what it is this was fun to see competitive players work through the strategy.
Re Vulcan/Stan he is a defensive beast but seen him wiff on tough targets a few times now. Can he team up with any heavier combat hitters?

Great game, and what a rollout for Mike! I love how much more big brained/tactical it becomes with the Leagues – masterclass in properly understanding your lists, trading up, sacrifice, CP usage, and when to pull strats out. As much as I love fluffy play and lists, you can’t beat some technical play (in my book anyway – I know it’s not for everyone)
Awesome to see Salamanders on table and I’m eager to see what adjustments Meta makes moving forward!

Kudos to Mike taking that like a Champ, clapping back and providing such a close match. Great game, great chemistry and a great display of how to play competitively. Fighting hard on the Tatami mat doesn’t mean without class 💪

Love the more competitive games and the list analysis, but would love perhaps a overlay at the start to see what are the ruins are counting as and what you guys are counting as the templates (like Is mentioned about the trees) . I appreciate that you guys are trying to make things look beautiful and present a tv show but if you are making an effort to “to play more competitive” then you might as well either use actual terrain templates, or have an over view at the start other wise it makes it hard to understand the game… Read more »

Hands down best (most competitive game) I have seen on the channel in a while. And although I appreciate the light hearted nature of a lot of games as it’s refreshing… I am a ‘competitive player’ at heart. So was great to see!

This battle report has led to my son changing his salamanders list and as such his birthday list, its his birthday on Wednesday, so thankfully my lack of organisational skills meant I still needed to go buy him bits. But his mother is not best pleased.
