Very excited to see what you do with farsight enclaves. I’m trying to chef up a list on battle scribe myself.
The tenet that gives you re-roll wound rolls of 1 on vehicles or monsters could be very interesting on any aircraft you use as they could still move 30″ and get this if they are on top bracket
Looking forward to future games with the new tau tricks. Never owned Tau, but they always have *looked* really cool, so fun to watch reports and admire from afar! Expect we’ll see Shadowsun’s spicy new mini gracing your collection eh Bone!
Something a little disappointing is that though you can bring Shadowsun with any Sept now, her Mont’ka/Kauyon abilities are still keyed to T’au Sept. So the primary reason to take her (the second Kauyon) is pretty much ineffective unless you’re still playing her in a T’au Sept army…
So that does also mean the FSE units will get the re-roll 1 overwatch. Markers can be used in both phases after all
Hey guys love the video as always. Looks really interesting, so much that it is moving towards my play style for tau and how I view them in the fluff. Only thing I would say is you have missed a trick with the air burst relic, as a sisters player can’t tell you how good ignoring ap-1 and 2 is. That system with some guys in iridium armour and the new farsight 5+++ would be a nightmare to kill.
Thank you for this and the other reviews. I tried T’au a long time ago in 7e and found it difficult to play on account of missing out on two phases of the game. Hearing how the Farsight Enclaves work now really excites me to field a hyper-aggressive T’au list. THE BAIT BALL BITES BACK!!!
So with the assault weapon range increase… breachers became way way WAY more interesting… BONE, get some breachers and show me, so I can possibly get breachers in the future… thanks buddy 😉
Hey guys – on the page for the Eight you can see under their Master of War that Kauyon has been changed to ‘you may reroll the hit roll’ – not reroll FAILED hit rolls! It’s easy to miss, too, but it could be Big If True ^^
Disappointed there is no clarification of using the Emergency Dispensation strategem to allow for the use of multiple Prototype Weapons. As the T’au don’t get the same strategem as the Nids got (Progeny of the Hive Mind) for doubling up on the “special” additional unit rules, it would seem the intention is to allow this however something official from GW would be welcome.
Im a bit disapointed with the new shadowsun. The model is fantastic but her old drones where better imo. Also Enforcers and Coldstars are just plain better in damage output and utility.
1 y’vhara might be viable in a bork’an detachment with the new strat. Its still very expensive tho. Riptides got even better with the new sept traits so they are probably still going to be the go to.
However, Ghostkeels looks very intresting now!
Great video guys. About Shadowsun. Like Lazarus they’ve forgotten to add her points cost into the book, and you can’t use her old points value as it was cost without drones but her drones are no longer optional and the MV37 is an all new drone, so without a points cost you can’t run her. As for her ability to be taken in any sept detachment, it sounds great but is actually useless. The Master of War (Kau’yon and Mont’ka) are Sept locked abilities and she still has the Tau Sept keywords so she can never use them on anything… Read more »
i feel the +4″ to assault weapons are really interesting. suddenly deep striking crisis with fusion are in 2d6 range, they are in range of flamers when deep striking and is almost doubles the breachers close range bracket of the their weapon…
So happy the Enclaves got some love. I’ve refused to play any other Sept throughout 8th even though their tenet left a lot to be desired and the way the army worked wasn’t exactly Farsight-friendly from a tactical perspective. Glad to see we’ve finally got some tricks. BS3+ crisis suits, people! We only had to wait two years!
Great video as usual guys. Ive been a devoted Farsight Enclaves player since the beginning of 8th Edition and I’m so excited for this book! Can’t wait to see them represented on the channel!
Glad the vids haven’t been working str8 away, gives me time to warn my neighbors, bone my friend they are coming over worried someone is causing a ruckus, and T’au psy awakening def has potential for you being excited, you and 500+ watts rms is no bueno apparently, i don’t agree : )
