mr. Bone – being a relative new subscriber and not watching past reviews I was a disappointed how the show was played out. I expected a more detailed review of what was good, bad and possible strategy plays with each section (strategems / relics etc). It seemed that you had just opened the book and was reading for the first time. Not something i expected due to the depth i have seen in the other productions. i will watch the next one (Pariah) and see. Thank you for your time and efforts guys.
Creations of Bile makes close combat Chaos armies, fast, durable and extremely high in strength. You can have a Strength 9, Toughness 7 Daemon Prince with the one off strat, give him wings and the advance and charge strat and he’s super quick. You can trivially have strength 8 berzerkers. Bile with his friend helping can guarantee a +1 T boost for the battle for any unit, which is nice too. Maybe a giant blob of close combat Chaos Marines with Chainswords, with M7, S5, T5. That’s pretty choppy for a relatively low points cost.
I haven’t seen anyone else comment on the Daemonic Ritual question, to put it simply, it’s not good, Bone. You must leave the points out of your list, can’t move or have just arrived to the board, then you have to roll and compare result to power of a daemon unit, and then finally attempt to place the unit down more than 9″ from an enemy and wholly within 12″ of the character, so it’s very hard to bring in a large squad. It’s main purpose is flexibility, keeping your options on which units to field open, but at the… Read more »
One of the things with PA in general that I don’t like is how many things got made stratagems that should have been either FAQ/erratas or just straight out rules changes.
Two good examples just for DG:
Bone:
Assuming this review was done with 8th as you mention heavy weapons and moving on the PBC, the Accelerated Entropy strat got better.
It’s also 3x better than you think, because it applies to all PBC within 7″ of the model you give it to.
Give me the true War of the Spiders: Mr. Lirence and his Drukkari vs someone leading The Creations of Bile. To determine who is really worth to bear that title!
Thanks for the review, Mr. Bone.
Oubliette. Means pretty much prison.
Seriously considering a dread host now. Terminator shield captain with exploding 6s, with slayer of the unclean for double damage on the Admonimortis on 6s meaning some attacks at flat 6 damage? With the charge strat your opponent is gonna have to be very careful around him!
Join us next week as Bone reads the spells of Harry Potter………sorry 🙂
Also, I wonder if games workshop are selling the rights for “The Emperors Old Spice” the fragrance of the imperium.
you actually did remember self repair once bone.
Constructive criticism: Timestamps would be lovely. The review needs to be an actual review of the book. With respect having Bone simply read out loud all the details without some summation of which would be useful, which is not worth it, etc. is not optimal. There was at most a sentence from Bone if he liked an individual item without context as to why something else would work better. At least two people should present a review to have some give and take, back and forth and some potential conflicting opinions. Thank you for the review but it could use… Read more »
I’m gonna try out creations of bile once I feel it’s safe enough to play strangers again. I think the movement buff is really strong, especially given how important manouverability is looking to be this edition, and the extra strength (hopefully if we get astartes chainswords as well) could make basic chaos marines a bit more interesting. A unit of havocs sticking back with Bile can always take the toughness buff for T6, and get full hit rerolls from the strategem.
start Custodes
27:17 silent sisters
38:04 Death Guard
1:10:44 Agents of Bile
next round in the termis vs 20 marines debate… overall now i think 20 bolter marines (with 2 flails ofc) might be the way to go now, with their excellent shooting strats for 80 shots rerolling wounds and 4up disgustingly they could be a real problem on the battlefield. they also dont really suffer i think from not having combat wepons,, their strats are strong in combat anyway and will still be very scary with the flails. also you can still run poxmongers and have 3 PBC’s with 4up invulns and not negatively affect your main combat blob. – terminators… Read more »
Hi, Bone! I think you should try the Poxmongers, I tried them with a moving castle with PBCs and Blight Haulers (plus a Foul Blightspawn and Plague marines) and buffing them to 4++ with the relic and Archcontaminator was horrific. I then had a couple of demon princes, two drones and a squad of terminators to get to the far objectives.
I obviously played it with 8th rules, but it was tremendously effective and I can imagine it can become even more interesting with the CP bonus in 9th.
Greetings Bone – some knowledge from the film Labyrinth (I think)…
It’s pronounced “ooooh bleeee ett”
(I think)
It’s French, for a place to be forgotten….
Keep up the excellent work….
We are the luckiest of Ducks!
Wow, Custodes just got serious buffs. I had not paid attention to WoS until this video bc it did not include my factions. I was also reading some points discussions yesterday (for competitive-minded lists) from a group that got a early CA copy and Custodes were only up ~2% rather than the ~15 – 20% many other factions were. If 9th is board control and securing objectives, Custodes are looking pretty sharp right now.
Great stuff as always. However, it would be super helpful if when you do the reviews for the books (and you are covering multiple factions in one video) you provided the time stamps for each faction not useful for everyone but would be helpful for some I am sure.
