I’m way behind on the batreps, but I’d be totally fine if every non league game was a maelstrom game. Love the format and how close the games are. Also really enjoying the post op you all have done after the matches lately talking about what worked, what didn’t and how things could have otherwise gone.

Could you guys post your Maelstrom rules in the app documents section?
I fully support your take on No rerolls Chef! 1: It’s more exiting to play! (and watch!) 2: A reroll can still be failed, making the CP wasted. Many strats has a guranteed effect when spending the CP, and going from a given percentage of chance to covert a CP into something successful to a 100% conversion rate by cutting out the risk of failure sounds exactly like you! In the long game, that should pay off!
More maelstrom please! Keep it coming chaps, makes a really nice change from the matched play stuff. I’ve always had a blast playing it – could you write up your version of the rules and put it on the site? I’d really like to convince my gaming group to give it a try.
Great game. I agree, I love the Malestorm card games, why more interesting for causal games than the constant tournament missions. Definitely would like to see more of these.
I was wondering about beards comment about if KT specialisms are worth the points? I know you played full re rolls, but what is TTT’s opinion on when they only give re roll of 1? As a new player to the game and Deathwatch I’m still experimenting with lists, although if it looks cool it tends to go in anyway!
Absolutely love your guys version of Maelstrom. On top of the games are exciting, they’re worth it just to see you guys having such a blast. Same with your narrative reports, if you lot are having fun it’ll be a fun watch! I’d definitely be happy to see you keeping them in a regular / semi-regular rotation

Considering they are Xenos hunters, Deathwatch seem ridiculously badly equipped to fight genestealer cults.

[narrative games] > [maelstrom] > [league + normal games].
The sudden switches that come with the objectives were great. For the Four Armed Emperor!
Do you know what I miss? I miss when the servo skull used to narrate the action and add drama and comments. I was watching some of the older episodes and I realized that the person filming used to be a part of the game and it made it more fun for everyone it seemed. Spider being the narrator was always so much fun!

Keep doing the maelstrom games. They are so much more enjoyable to watch. Throw in a multi ball once too if you are feeling spicy!

Not a criticism, more a question. As I read it in the codex, the specialism upgrades give you the reroll 1, if you have a specific specialism stacked with your Chapter tactic, then it is reroll all dice. So have I read it wrong or are the guys doing it wrong? Either way great report, really enjoyable to watch.
So happy to see the Deathwatch make an appearance again! And Beards dice roll never fails. 🙂

EDIT: @Beard: I don’t think you can have the Executor Heavy bolter with the rapid fire Heavy bolt rifles, it’s limited to squads with the heavy version only. You can put a normal heavy bolter though.
That was soooo much fun! I enjoy when you do 1750pts, think it is nice seeing the altered lists for the lower points. How much do you think reducing to 1500pts would change it?
