Tyranids vs Leagues of Votann | Warhammer 40k Battle Report

Deep under the earth the leagues of Votann have dug greedily into the crust of this planet.

The cacophony of heavy duty equipment siphoning the planets mineral riches has awoken the terrifying presence of the Tyranids.

For thousands of years this hive fleet splinter had slumbered, but now its ravenous hunger has been unleashed.

The tunnels of this dig site now writhe with the skittering masses of the great devourer.

The Leagues of Votann make a valiant last stand, priming explosives to seal these horrors away.

Will the Leagues make a daring escape, or will they become bio mass for the hives consumption.

Why are they called Von Ryan’s Leapers? That’s a question for your local Magos Biologis – we don’t have the Inquisitorial clearance to let you know.

Can confirm that chitin is pronounced “kite in”.

Does posting this make me a pedantic bore or just someone who studied a bit of invertebrate biology? Why not both.

Love this crazy scenarios – thanks for it 🙂

Also bless Fletcher. I’ve said it before, but I can’t be repeated enough – he is the Votan’s only saving grace 😛 😉

Thanks for another great narrative game with lots of stampeding as you’d expect! I think there might have been a bit of confusion cos while the Massive Impact wounds on 4+, regular tank shock only wounds on 5+, but a fantastic game regardless.

This absolutely needs to be the start of a narrative campaign including genestealer cults and you need to finish the last mission in the campaign with a heirophant on the table! Please Lawrence make this happen 🙏

Great narrative but would have been nice to have remembered the detachment rules for crusher stampede – Didn’t see any plus 1 to hit or wound for damaged monster units in the game sadly, and seen some more strats used throughout like a savage roar from the screamer killer or tervigon in combat would have been pretty thematic or untrammelled ferocity where a beast smashes through the defences etc. However I did appreciate James energy playing tyranids and for a first outing with them wasn’t terrible and I’d like to see him at the helm again, hopefully he’s caught the… Read more »

What an absolutely special battle report – home-made asymmetric mission, amazing scenery, Jinx and Bard on top form, Chefs editing making me laugh loud enough for people to start giving me weird looks… Just brilliant.

Also – nice to see some Votann love, thankyou Jinx! The stunties need a few more units, but they’ve got great models and a lot of character.
