After years of waiting, waiting for the barrage of extravagant firepower, waiting for the visceral joy of tearing flesh and snapping bone, waiting for the flourish of poisoned blades and visceral warp taint… the sweet caress of anticipation has finally been delivered to us, and a chorus of excess is unleashed.
Finally we can bear witness to the Lurid Magnificence of The Emperor’s Children making their long awaited arrival to 40K as they prepare to settle an old rivalry with the dreaded black legion. Both vie to end the Imperium, but today one shall have to fall before the victor reaps the spoils, and marches on to Terra.

Very interesting to see the new Emperor’s children. I think it was great to put them against Black Legion first. Looking forward to seeing the next battle report. Well done.
How do you think they’ll go against an army that’s more about range and big guns like Tau or Knights?
Abandon has devastating wounds btw so another Terminator should have died. Wouldn’t have changed anything though
The EC look really fun to play. While it’s a bit of an odd codex, I’m happy that it allows me to properly mix Chaos mortals and Daemons again. Finally I can put my small assortment of Slaanesh daemons to good use again! Lawrence, why do you keep being so mean to Beard, that saving roll for the terminators could qualify as harrasment on the working floor ;).
Are we in a new era of Codex creep? The EC seem very powerful – I don’t quite understand GW giving Sonic Blasters damage 2, and the Blastmasters should surely hit on 4s with heavy as pretty much every other infantry heavy weapon has this across other marine-type armies. Each Noise Marine unit is effectively lugging around 2 Heavy Psycannons (with access to sustained hits) which even GK Paladins don’t have access to.
Still, it looks like you both had a lot of fun!
These new kids look like they blend in pretty well with the original take on EC. Excited to see how the clubhouse gang eventually drop Fulgrim on us.
Now to do a 4 way game with world eaters vs thousand sons vs Deathgaurd vs emperor’s children!!!
