So how tall is Beard? He seems about the height of the other members of the team (other than Katie) so I’m curious how tall y’all are. Between this report and some others with shorter players it’s so comical seeing the camera changes between the 2 players when there is such a height difference 😆
pardo weirdly looks a bit like a cousin or brother of beard.
As someone who does not play heresy nor has read any of the rules this is so fascinating to me. Kind of like how 40k sounded when i first got into that. 😀
It was great to see TT finally give Heresy some screen time. I see that it’s not likely to become a mainstay of the channel, and I understand why, but I hope it can be at least an occasional feature. It is far more enjoyable to play and watch than 10th Edition WH40k, and I sense that at least some members of the TT team are a little jaded with WH40k. I will say though, I don’t miss the slap fest of HH combat, gives me 5th Ed PTSD.

Great game! I like 30K very much right now. Seems like the late 90s 3rd or 4th edition game style. Please do more reports from Horus Heresy. And maybe the Salamanders can take a chance against the Night Lords… 😉

Great game, I am really looking forward to see the game of Pardö’s Salamanders vs Fletcher’s Sons of Horus! I like 30k 3rd a edition a lot so far and I would be thrilled to see more 30k on this channel!
Love 30k! Know it’s hard to balance which and how many systems you support, but for what its worth 30k would have my vote! (As would AoS and Old World for that matter…. but I think 30k would be the best fit for the channel and existing viewer base 🙂 )
If Beard wouldn’t have failed some key status tests it would have at least been a draw! Great fight! Glad to see after some of the controversy that the game seems to play very well. Can’t wait to get my rulebook and get my own Iron Warriors on the table.

From my perspective as an old 40K player (and person) with no real knowledge of HH, this very much feels like an older edition of 40K for most parts, except the rules for returning fire which I really like. I’m outright jealous about the list building and I miss this kind of terrain rules. On the flipside, I really don’t miss these types of Mission rules and units running away. Not a Heresy player but do enjoy HH batrep or at least I have previous versions (some elements of 3 like terrain and challenges need to really embed). That being said I’d rather watch Old World from you guys with the occasional HH thrown in perhaps. I’ve got Winters and SN for the Heresy itch. Maybe Beard should go visit the man in the flat cap?

I have never seen an HH game before. That being said, I love you guys, but would rather have the Valtor/Cast of Players series back than adding this (just my opinion, meant no offense). HH rules feel very clunky; it seems like there are too many confusing rules. Good game though.
Good to see a HH battle report done with the high production values of the TT crew. Have watched a few others elsewhere. Reminded me of Killteam in that it looks great fun to play but needs alot of summary/synopsis narrative to make it cinemagraphic to watch.
I thought this bat rep was excellent! The vibe & mood setting was excellent! It’s super interesting seeing how different the sequencing is from 40K but I really enjoyed it overall! Would’ve been nice to see the challenge/duel mechanic on camera but otherwise I was fully engaged. I think if you’d gone into any tighter detail you’d have started to lose the 40K fans a bit, it does seemly extremely complicated in comparison. Love to see it! This was really fun to watch and even with all the additional rules depth, it came across very clear and concise. I do like the balance of summary and showing every roll, so great job to the editor(s) for finding that sweet spot. After watching other channel’s battle reports, my honest opinion is that you guys are the best in the business, no contest. Beard and Bard are top tier every time and so fun to watch. I’ve not been able to finish a 40k game in a long time – watched them to the end, but tuned out in round 2 most of the time. HH seems so much more ftting to your style of batt-rep. You have such a high quality of terrian and models that really benefits of the slower pace of ‘action’ (less models removed per step) and at the same time its not bogged down with 20-40 dice with re-rolls from 40k.
I can just hope you pick it up in your schedule.
It’s a good show and nice to see a new game. But HH is not as fun to watch (personally) seems like a clunky set of rules.

The challenge combat and Pardo’s explaining what was happening is the first interaction that has hooked me. I like the HH crunchy rules over the ridiculousness in 40K, but that seems like such a fun interaction. I would like y’all to do more Horus Heresy.

This game was awesome! Great job with the rules coverage. Not too in depth but enough for people to learn the game whilst keeping up with the action! As a first impression of heresy I quite like the feel of the game. Very much historical wargame as you guys have said in the past. It kind of feels like a cross between 40k and old world.
Looking forward to more of this in the future!

I’m a player that’s pretty long in the tooth. Played 40k since 4th, and I played a lot of HH1.0. The new one of building a force seems so complex to me. How did you find it, Beard? Did you adjust as you went through?

A fun game. Felt like a good balance of bringing people who aren’t familiar with the rules along without getting too bogged down in details so well done to Beard, Pardo and the editors as that can’t be easy to pull off. I like some aspects of heresy like characters feeling more impactful, relative WS mattering, hardly any rerolls, armour values and proper tussles over objectives. As a non player I like heresy output! As pure spectacle it’s better and I like the routing feature and reactions! It make 40k look overly simple. I’m sure that’s by design but even so some depth could be added. As a person who added to the lodge to see a 40k Route army I would love to see a leman Russ lead 6th legion! 🐺 As usual a great video.
