T’au Empire vs Tyranids | Warhammer 40k Battle Report

The T’au empire if nothing else are famed for their mighty battle suits, and with the changes to Crisis Suits this edition an exciting prospect dawned on us … what if we were to run 27 crisis suits?

A full devastating retaliation cadre, complete with commanders and epic heroes of the T’au empire.

To test this we are sending the Cadre on a custom mission right into the heart of the ravening hordes of the Tyranids …

Will its fire power annihilate all before it, or will it falter under the scrutiny of battle?

A full Crisis list with not a single flamer in sight? What is this madness?

Definitely going to consider a similar list to this in future. Very helpful and VERY fun to watch!

Well played bard, and well done on remembering the shadowsun’s two fusion. Next challenge is remembering her aura of reroll ones to hit, including herself of course. And you said you had marker drones on everything, but never ignored cover? Gun drones would have been better… if you used them of course.

Another amazing game. I’m not a huge fan of Tau with all their Suits. Nids are my least favorite Faction. This battle report was fun and entertaining! Everything TableTop does is amazing. You all are my Favorite!!

Would love to see the ‘Oops All Lictors’ list in boarding actions (sorry can’t remember the official name).

What a blast of a game and those Crisis Suits felt as terrifying a force as they should.
My favorite part was the finish, just because it felt so narratively fitting for Farsight and Shadowsun rush side by side towards to stop the impending doom and for it all to end with Farsight just doing a Big Hero Moment.

Much as I want to see The Eight make a return…I suppose The Thirty Five will have to do.

Katie your warriors rolled so many 3’s to wound, but with the synapse changes they are always strength 6 now. If you don’t mind defiling your codex, I just crossed it out and wrote 6 in mine to remember 🙂

Finally i have been waiting for the full Crisis suit list (and 3 stealth suits). Honestly i didnt realise you could get the full 27 suits + 6 commanders and still have room for farsight and shadowsun. Very curious to see how this would fair against other armies especially those with more vehicles. Id also be curious to see where farsight works best. On the one hand star sythe suits have the fall back and shoot support system but on the other hand +1 to wound on a sunforge could be the difference between wounding on 5s and 4s since… Read more »

What an awesome, fun game with two very cool lists. At first, I thought the T’au were missing some heavier punch from Broadsides. They would have had a place, but they were not needed. 27 crisis suits are indeed very scary.

Love seeing tyranids on the table, they look so good!

First round of shooting and I have to comment, Fireknife units can ignore any or all modifiers to the hit roll, so they ignore stealth.
edit: and in Jinx’s turn you mentioned that so all is good, hurrah.

Had to pause to comment.

Those blue Crisis suits are sick! I love that scheme!

Where did they come from?!
