I have a few ideas around overwatch. one idea is that ow can only be performed by units with infantry key word and only if they are equipped with flamers or weapons with the assault or rapid fire key words, so no heavy weapons as they would be to cumbersome. The thought around the this is because most weapons with these key words don’t typically go above ap1 so wouldn’t be very threating. Re re-rolls, I’m currently in a League running Word Bearers who benefit from hitting on 5s and 6s more than most. Almost no re-rolls at all. And it feels great, I’m being rewarded for risking a Dark Pact and then rolling well. It feels rather silly coming up against an army of re-rolls. Like, why are we rewarding people for rolling 1s by letting them roll again? Rolling 1s should be punished. They should focus on making high rolls more rewarding. Maybe give Marines BS2+ which lets them benefit from 5s and 6s to hit or something. They’ll miss sometimes… Read more »

For what it’s worth, I’d love to see you guys play some games in the future that include an example of rules you’d change.

eg; Spider says he’d remove rerolls tomorrow, but increase the quality of units to compensate. I’d love to see you guys play a very simple game with these rules in place to demonstrate how it might look. Wouldn’t have to be perfect, just enough to see how it affects things 🙂

While it is a fun discussion, this was one of those that had been helped if there was more familiarity with Sigmar. They do refer to it later, but especially with the couple of first topics, AoS has different solutions for those, so there would have been a lot value in being able to compare how those rules affect the gameplay there.
