I went to like this video on YouTube, and it was 777 likes… clearly Nurgle approves.

Given how many detachments are getting the move and charge through walls, I’m starting to think they should have just made a new Core stratagem that allowed a singular mounted, vehicle, or monster unit to move through terrain, while Knights get their fun bulldoze through terrain for free with their army rules. Frees up space in the detachments for other strats. These all look interesting though, I’ll be excited to play against them

For me, I wish the Slaanesh detachment was something like this- Start of the fight phase, select Sadism or Masochism. Sadism- Gains Re-roll all hits and wounds. But worsen invulnerable saves by 1 and cannot reroll saves. Masochism- Gain feel no pain 5 and if you already have an ability like this gain 1 to the roll. But you must fight last after all other eligible units have fought and cannot reroll hits or wounds. So you can boost offence or defence at the cost of the other. This feels more tactical and slaaneshy to me. I wrote this up… Read more »

Got a question about Seductive Gambit for Slaanesh. I presume you need to choose a unit that has the fights first ability. Is that correct? otherwise, how can you change it? And I’m not aware of Fiends or the KoS having fights first, unless I’ve missed something.

I cannot get over how BAD the Nurgle one is.
Pick ONE enemy unit to take a battle shock test, 50% of armies have 6+ Leadership.
It’s just so so bad. If it was ALL units (with a -L?) or pick one to automatically battleshock maybe, but this is trash.

You had Tank Shock, then Death Guard got Stank Shock for Grotmas.
Now behold, the power of Skank Shock.

Really liking the sound of the tzeentch detachment but not liking how the separation seems to be pointing towards daemons getting lumped in with their respective legions

I’m looking forward to trying out the khorne detachment, but especially the Tzeentch one. That just sounds like utter hilarity

Khorne seems pretty good, Slannesh seems pretty good too. Unconvinced by Nurgle but I’m laughing at how hilariously perfect Tzeentch is!

I really like those rules. Sounds like a fluffy way to play the daemon factions.

On the other hand I am quite certain there won’t be a separate Daemon codex in this edition. I think all daemon armies will be playable with these detachments + index, but from now on it will be god-specific chaos legions + daemons since we also get Emperor’s Children. Which to me is a fine enough solution as all 5 daemons options are covered and the TS, EC, WE and DG should (always) run around with cultists and daemons 🙂

I actually think the lack of advance and charge for Slaanesh is actually ok, mainly because all the units within the index move fairly fast anyway (and the board sizes tend to be smaller). Sure there are times when I really wish I had it, but anecdotally at least, that’s far less than I thought it would be. The gambit is pretty awesome. Being able to fall back and charge is actually pretty awesome imo, given terrain on the board and los blockers (and the fact we can just move through terrain as if it wasn’t there) our mobility, specifically… Read more »

I’m afraid you vastly overestimated how useful the Nurgle Detachment rule is. You only get to select 1 unit to make a battleshock test (with the stratagem enabling a 2nd). So yeah, not great.
The other 3 Detachements are interesting or even great, but the Nurgle one ist just sad.

love the idea in slaanesh of passing damage one to an epitome unit so they can ignore the mortals on 4+ I understand the lack of advance and charge is a hit but the fall back and charge will allow the other ability to actually work more otherwise once you are tagged you cant use you ability

Finally a detachment choice for my single chaos diety lists.
