Loving the Faction Focus. I have been loving the Reaper for a long time now, good to see Lawrence you are looking at them now. Here is my 2k point list. Hopefully will give some players something to think about 🙂 Archon: Blast Pistol, Huskblade, Labyrinthine Cunning, Writ of the Living Muse Archon: Blast Pistol, Huskblade Archon: Blast Pistol, Huskblade 3x Kabalite Warrior: 3x Splinter Rifle, 1x Blaster, Sybarite: Blast Pistol 3x Kabalite Warrior: 3x Splinter Rifle, 1x Blaster, Sybarite: Blast Pistol 3x Kabalite Warrior: 3x Splinter Rifle, 1x Blaster, Sybarite: Blast Pistol 3x Kabalite Warrior: 3x Splinter Rifle, 1x… Read more »

I know you addressed the vehicle FAQ changing. I think the reason the wording got changed in the first place, was because the original wording implied you could have two daemon princes next to each other, benefitting from being within 3″ of another monster.
So they could be on their own together, and be untargetable as long as they were holding hands.

Thanks again lads just a thought any chance of a pop up graphic or cut shot to some of the models you refer to when you’re discussing these topics whether from your own armies or from codex’s some of us older fellas can’t remember all the models and what they look like just would be nice isn’t going to stop me watching though just to good brilliant job

Hey guys, loving the faction overview videos to see where they lay post-9th and pre-new Codex. Just my own feedback though – labelling these videos as “the Good, the Bad and the Ugly” is obviously in reference to the awesome western film, however I feel it kind of railroads the content into pretty negative territory – it starts off with the good, which is nice – then moves onto the bad, which is needed but of course is usually negative, and then moves onto the oddly defined “ugly”, which seems to just end up being an extension of the “bad”.… Read more »

I’m pretty happy as a casual weekend player, my buddy mostly plays tau so not a hugely vehicle based army. The 9th changes hit him harder I think. Into an army without a huge armour presence, what would be the better option than haywire for my scourges?
Great video as always team, keep it up.

It’s interesting watching analysis videos during this transition period between editions. I think the true analysis will have to wait until after the release of the 9th edition codexes as the points will shift again and there seems to be continuous hints that there will be significant changes to a lot of army game/play mechanics. However, as it currently stands I’d have to agree with all the points raised in this Faction Focus.

Great analysis guys! It’s nice to hear Incubi came through okay, they’re such awesome models it’d be shame to bench them. I agree that several weapon profiles could use adjustments, and hope GW consider that for the codex release the way they are with the recently revealed changes to Marines and imperial weapons.

Hi Lawrence (and the BBone !). As a Drukhari player, i think the main problem we do have at the moment is the lack of strong Stratagems, and our CPs are almost only there for rerolls. Our PA on this part was a joke. The very good one was Lightning Fast Reactions, that is less relevant in V9 because it does not stack, and because almost all our vehicules already have -1 to hit. Looking at your Drukhari games in V8 and 9 (both freewiew and On Demand), you used only Lightning Fast Reaction and from time to time some… Read more »

Regarding the Ravager/Disintegrator costs i already tought about it a lot of times. My current thinking is that due to the higher point costs in general its 1. concidering about the no. of ravagers (is maybe 2 + archon with writ of the living muse enough? Therfor add more Talos to the Coven Detachment (when they like to have spam lists… it’s not that we have chosen this point change!) or some Venoms/Troops or maybe even Incubi OR mandrakes (for deepstriking low defended markers => currently i noticed that often the marker in enemy deployment is mostly capture “just by… Read more »

The best one so far! I could listen to Spiders thoughts all day long, very sharp, no salt, always giving ideas on playing around weeknesses. But of course, he still is and always will be the bad guy, the villain, the spider…

Really enjoying these videos. Particularly I liked that you went into more detail about particular units and weapons here rather than only focusing on the more meta overview of the previous videos. I think the dark eldar have come out of 9th fine overall, relative to other factions, they feel about average. Not sure I agree with you on the Disintegrator Ravenger, it still does more AT damage than a stock Battle Cannon Lemon Russ (a target that it should not be good against) than that MBT does back to it, while costing less. Also its not particularly fair to… Read more »

Great video guys. I’m planning on giving my Drukhari som play time this edition, in fact my first game with them and the edition was a lot of fun.But yeah… the darklight and blasters is so ugly. I feel generally Str 8 shooting is very sensetive to points because it’s so underwhelming vs T8. Massive liability when that happens and the random damage is the iceing on the crappy pudding. A bit like main battle tanks with T7 actually. Talos are great, but I am sceptical you have room to actually take them with everything else being so expensive… But… Read more »

Really interesting discussion, and happily they changed the “Look Out Sir” rule after you filmed: it would have worked in my favour but it was really dumb. I like how reactive GW is proving to be in this instance, it bodes well for the future. @Lawrence: I have to say that I disagree on your take on the Venom. I’m with you when you say that it is not as good as the Skyreaver (or whatsisname), but I think that’s because the Harlequins transports are insanely (brokenly, maybe) cheap for what they do. Looking at the armies I play I… Read more »

Nice rundown. I largely agree with what you two shared, though I’m surprised there was no comment about how the new army composition rules especially hurt Drukhari armies now. With the limitation of gaining detachment rules if a detachment is entirely Wych Cults, Kabals or Covens, mixing two or more of these becomes extremely CP cost prohibitive. Getting some flexibility in the army composition w/o the CP expense would be most helpful. Hopefully the codex rewrite will address this by refunding Patrol detachment CP costs if each Patrol you have represents each of these subgroups (e.g. a Patrol of Wych… Read more »

I love playing a Wych Cult themed list but those units seem to be in a tough spot right now; hoping they get some love in the next Codex 🙂

Colby Pryor 1 second ago I get what you mean Lawrence but I’ve always played dark lance spam and let me tell you that I have never had an issue popping tanks until you get to gargantuan level things. But when I say spam I mean it, back in 8th I had had 25 dark Lances in my 2000 point list. And I could gave gone for more and people did not like seeing it on the table because I had all the re-rolls and I countered charged with witches a lot so I tied a lot of my opponents… Read more »

I know its irrelevant now, but I’m pretty sure the reason why they wanted to change it was because there were some characters that could protect other characters like daemon princes.

I’ve been waiting for this one! Loved the other two faction focus’ you had completed and am interested to hear your thoughts on Drukhari.

Any plans for a Craftworlds discussion soon? I’ve played a little of them in 9th so far & am hoping that their codex can maybe add a little more oomph on specific units again.
