great battle report
Amazing game as always, I love watching these. I just wanted to comment on the paint scheme for the tyranids. Fletcher has reeeeeeally outdone himself and they are jaw droppingly gorgeous. They look like what might have happened if the nids consumed the Flesh Tearers and evolved to incorporate their traits. They look so good.
Btw James…the Heavy Bolters on the Baneblade are twin-linked. Might have helped you a few times. 😀

I always feel for James. He could hit on 2’s rerolling and still miss half. Reminds me of ‘Try again’ Bragg from the gaunts ghosts. Missing every shot haha.

What an epic battle report! Always fun to see skewed missions with a strong narrative and this was no exception. So many epic moments – the Emissary-Baneblade showdown was worth it all in its own. (And yes – the Baneblsde must henceforth be known as Thunderchild – love a War of the World’s reference).

This would have been truly epic on a bigger board, it all felt a bit crammed in, but was still great fun to watch regardless. James as always made this game for me, amazed at his constant positivity in the face of some horrendous luck, well played sir.

Really fun game, great to see something more narrative/different for a new codex game! The Guard were really up against it this time though, poor men. Rules question: what do you base the “everything happens at the same time” ruling on? As far as I see in the rules, shooting attacks are resolved one at a time. So you can kill the bodyguard unit and then have any remaining attacks be allocated to a Leader, without that leader benefiting from any “whilst it leads a unit” rules as the bodyguard unit is dead by then. Team this is absolutely glorious! The narrative mission (as you said on the podcast) just adds that extra element of fun. Also the overhead camera shot of the entire movement phase is 👌🏻

I greatly appreciated seeing the full (sped-up) movement occur via the overhead cam, minus any dialogue. I hope this is a feature you utilize in all subsequent games (if you have been doing so in other videos, I’m sorry that it didn’t register until this one), it significantly enhances the flow of the game for me.
