Codex Supplement Blood Angels is here and by the blood do the sons of Sanguinius have some teeth! Today we test out our all new 2000 point army of Blood Angels with the Liberator Assault Group, determined to harness the red thirst and purge the traitorous filth of the Black Legion. Will the strength and finesse of the 9th cut their way through the twisted apparitions of their traitor cousins. Or will the allure of chaos have the sons of the angel fall to the black rage!

I stg this is one of my favourite ever TT battle reports <3 epic brad and bread craic, bonkers shit happening on the tabletop, sick vibes all round. This plus the grey knights v daemons battle report back in 9e demonstrate some of the best parts of the interactive and social elements of 40k. Just……..yes 🙂 x

Loving the new ink chaos lord beard! I hope we get to see the Blood Angels go up against the Iron Warriors in a classic match of unstoppable force vs immovable object.

How exactly is that demon prince painted for the chaos space marine army?
As a watcher, sadly not a player, doesn’t the Blood Angels seem crazily over powered? Infinite rerolls (and oaty moaty), feel no pains and minuses to hits? It’s nasty! The opposition will see their smile gradually deteriorate after turn 1.
Love the blood red for the Blood Angles instead of the brighter/more satured from the original art work. It fits especially Mephisto. Great work, James!

I do love that Terminator + Chaplain brick, much like Bard I think a Space Marine army without Chaplains means you’re doing it wrong, but Termies with a Chaplain is just… awe inspiring.
Looks like we all need more garlic to help defeat our new vampire overlords.
Seems like blood angels are very much a glass cannon. Didn’t help beard that he forgot his rerolls to hit on the terminators, might have killed them all
The funny thing is, even with how powerful Mephiston is on the tabletop now, it still doesn’t come close to how powerful he is in his books, where he is stopping time and psychically popping people’s brains!

Good gravy, those Blood Angels hit like a freight train. To say nothing of Mephiston being an entire flank unto himself hahaha. Great game, always a good time. Beautifully painted Blood Angels Bard, I’d say they were eager to get out on the table, considering how you were rolling today!
What a great game! Bard, your Blood Angels look fantastic and sit well alongside the other beautifully painted studio armies. I am a little concerned about the inclusion of so much Fight First on such powerful melee units. It would be very interesting to see how World Eaters fare into the new Blood Angels, given their lack of good shooting. Other than that, I think that this looks like a very flavourful, fun codex. In particular, Mephiston’s rules give the character so much personality.
Ah this video is PEAK Tabletop Tactics. Amazing presenters, hilarious banter, stunning armies, beautiful terrain and Mephiston endlessly shooting lightning into the corpse of a havoc. What more could we want?
Is it possible for GW to introduce something new without getting all giddy and making it brokenly powerful?
As much as I loathe Mephiston in the books, the current glow-up feels so true to how he feels in the fluff.

Excellent battle report chaps, loved seeing the BAngles and the BLegion murder each other. Beautiful army James, the Bladeguard and the Chaplain Dread in particular look awesome! Managed to secure one of the army boxes so am looking forward to trying out the Death Company detachment as well as boosting my Liberator Assault Group. That Mephiston is a bit spicy isn’t he? 🙂
