Awesome content as always guys! Speaking from an app perspective would love if some more of the videos were downloadable (especially the reviews) so I can listen on the move. Cheers
Anyone having issues opening this file?
This was a really good review guys, The Porpherion knight used to be BS2 but GW nerfed it to a 3 (as soon as i bought it believe it or not) and its way way over pointed for a BS3 unit, Im going to get the new forge world book based on your review and see what to do next…
Good Job guys!!
Hey Laurence. I really really enjoyed this tactica report of you providing coaching from both sides. I think it was great of you to provide that insight to us and to Beard as well. That being said, I think it’s good to have tactica where you are not sort of playing against yourself as well. Maybe an idea would be to do the traditional tacticas against Chef for now and do the dual couching elements with Beard, Bone and Stig for some reports and for others do the traditional tactica. I know you already have so many shows and so… Read more »
Appreciate a look at the Knights, tbh I think these big resin dudes are outbof my price range, but its good to hear what they can do compared to their plastic buddies. Quick request, I’m sure it’s in the pipeline, but will there be a FW review of the Custodes units? I know it may be a little niche, but they make up about half the army so I’d appreciate hearing how the came out of the compendium. Thank you all and keep up the good work!
I like the knights cool models, did I hear some Adept specific one’s mentioned does mean they can take one as a heavy support without the cp cost? Or is my servo skull head to slow lol.
The Blast keyword means that you can’t use it if you are in melee. So the Porphyrion is even worse. It used to be BS2 and T9, which was appropriate since it is supposed to be a titan killer in the fluff along with the fact that it tended to make the pilots go insane because it was so big that it was pushing the limits of what one person could pilot.
Chaos may have an advantage with these knights in that the Household bonuses can push something okay-ish into “more than decent”. +1 A and extra – 1 AP on the charge is majestic, and all of the Infernal bonuses are great on mixed weapon armigers.
I thought you could use stratagems like “full tilt” on the cerastus knights as they have the imperial knight keyword and the stratagem says “imperial knight vehicle” ? So you could get the melee Boi in on turn one. Am I reading it wrong?
Hey guys, I’m a semi-competitive knight player. The Styrix, Magaera and Moirax definitely shine. The built in 5++ invul on the questoris class combined with ignoring cover is amazing.
Guys you’re all legends and I’m loving all these FW updates, but as a Guard player with 3 Thunderbolt Heavy Fighters, 1 Macharius Vulcan and 4 FW Leman Russ variants I’m on complete tender hooks to find out if they’re going to become playable or not 😬😬😬😬 please, please, please put me out of my misery 😂😂
Having said that, keep the D&D content coming as well though it’s incredible, and the Crusade, and the Tacticas …. more, more mooorrrreeee!!!
That’s all,
Thanks
I do agree one of the biggest downsides to the non-Questoris class FW knights is the inability to give them Exalted Court/Heirlooms of the Household. The only way to get them a warlord trait is to make them the warlord itself which is fine if thats the only one you are taking. As soon as you take another one it makes things a bit difficult. . The Moirax Armigers are fantastic. I can’t add much to what you said. I have 4 and am ordering 5 more as I love them. I love the model, the weapon options, and just… Read more »
Hey guys, great review. You mention a lot in your videos about “friendly games” where you do things like let the Lancer be Questoris, etc. Could you guys do a Friendly Game category and have some custom rules just because it would be cool and fun? This version of 40k is hyper-locked on super strict tournament play as the default and as a result, the scenarios themselves are fairly generic as they need to be. You do a great job at making them entertaining and useful as a learning tool, but I’d like to see a scenario where Beard and… Read more »
Good video and thank you for your tips! I am so hard trying to build a viable list of Adeptus Mechanicum + Cerastus Atropos. Yes, it’s FUgly, I know, but I love the model and I would play it just for the bragging rights :))))
Awesome video guys! Small error though, a lancer can still use full tilt as it doesn’t specify which chassis you can use the strat on. (EDIT: posted before Bone picked that up).
My Porphyrion literally just arrived! Can’t wait to use it alongside my Lancer who I love. Maybe they’ll balance each other out a little but we’ll see.
I definitely recommend the Lancer though, there is no better line breaker Knight.
Just an idea for future episodes of “Faction Focus” videos, how about you put in a picture of the units you talk about in the center?
That way we always know what your talking about. Not all of us can always remember what the minis look like 🙂
Nice vid guys!, But wil the astra militarum get some love and a seperate video?
I’m glad you guys finally looked at the knights! One thing that you might have missed is that both the Styrix and Magaera have “Ionic Flare Shield” wargear. I didn’t notice this with mine until a friend pointed it out but it’s different from the regular Ion Shield in that it works against ranged and melee attacks. So you could rotate in combat against smash captains or those types of characters! I love my Magaera and Styrix so much, I feel like they do way more work than the normal knights. I hope you get some soon, oh and Lawrence!… Read more »
Love the video, just wanted to bring attention to a fact about the styrix that may have been missed. It has a 5+ in both ranged and close combat. This paired with the flat 5 shots, reducing the swing of regular knights with d6 thermal canon, and potential to deal mortals, plus the ignoring cover, does this not make it a good if not great unit compared to the codex knights? The 12 attacks at flat 3 means it can deal a strong blow to most infantry squads to boot.
I’ve got an Asterius still to build but the way the range of the guns works and now smaller tables and worse bs/T it just feels so bad
Awesome run down of the section from the book guys, looking forward to the others
