Chef, do you have a gripe against 9th codices rules (and if so, what is the problem in your opinion) or is it just that not all of them are out ?
Wouldn’t Shadow in the Warp not affect Genestealer Cults psykers because they have the Tyranids keyword?
What a fun game! GSC are still one of my favorite armies and I think the vehicle heavy version is really neat.
More Cults please!
Totally agree on the throwaway comment at the end about using 8th edition books against each other in order to enjoy 9th. The 9th codexes all seem absolutely insane in terms of power level and it leads to so many feels bad moments (whether winning or losing) that for the first time in 17 years I stopped playing 40k and took 3 or 4 months out of the game. Even 9th against 9th, each book is so powerful that the interactions (or choice not to interact) means that the winner is almost always obvious very early in the game. With… Read more »

Absolutely loved this game. Katie cause you two were talking about the hive tyrant being a bit lackluster I have a build recommendation you may enjoy. 2 x Scything Talons (Murderous Size), Adrenal Glands, Toxin Sacks (Xenogenic Acid) You get 5 accurate attacks and a tail attack that all proc mortal wounds on 5’s and 6’s to wound. You use voracious appetite on anything T7+ and re-roll any failed wounds which increases your mortal wound chance. Your talons are AP-4 and 4 damage so you are good at taking out even tough targets with -1 damage. You can use your… Read more »

A great game from the beginning to the end 🙂 I really loved the bikers and the hive guard part, that would look very cinematic irl.
I was hoping for that, I always had a soft spot for the GSC and the fratricidal battle with Nids is awesome to see both for the spectacle and the narrative! I hope you will do some campaign around this concept, maybe with a bit of Alien thrown in the mix (cause it’s always good to add a bit of Alien in something). Keep up the good work!
awesome fun game, was wondering if shadow in the Warp actually affected the GSC psykers, as it states enemy psykers in the 1st line, but finishes the rule saying tyranid psykers not affected by it(not ‘friendly tyranid psykers’) and both magus and patriarch have the tyranid keyword
Don’t see GSC very often… wonder why they are suddenly making an appearance, as December approaches… 🎣
Yessssss GSC are back! It’s a shame they’re not brought out more often, although I totally get why. My favourite boys are hard to play 🙁
