Making their Escape from the Cinder Ark, Boarding Master Apollo and the remnants of his Deathwing Strike Force find themselves trapped inside a fresh circle of hell.

Within the blood soaked corridors of this new labyrinth, the Black Abess continues her dark ritual amongst a World Eaters Warband. The bite of the Butchers Nails pounds the skulls of these barbarians and only the flow of blood can quench their thirst.

As the brave warriors of the first legion stride into the unknown, and their Inquisitor ally continues to protect the child, do they have the resilience to repel yet another attack from the great enemy?

Grim Resolve will indeed be required, as the Dark Angels enter, the Corpse Furnace…

++ MISSION RULES ++

At Any Cost: Inquisitor Heidegger is able to focus his psychic powers to create a psychic shield to protect the Child. It is cast of a 4+ which grants a 4+ save against wounds suffered.

The Red Butchers: Once per game after the first round of combat, the World Eaters Terminators can be selected to fight again at the end of the fight phase.

++ MISSION OBJECTIVES ++

Quench the Nails, Stoke the Furnace: The World Eaters score 5 points for destroying any enemy units.

Maim the Vessel: The Dark Angels & Inquisitor Heidegger score 10 points for each Furnace Exhaust destroyed.

Slay the Abess: The Dark Angels score 5 points for destroying the Dark Commune.

It would have been sweet to have some Necromunda Corpsegrinders as Jackals for this one.

Love narrative games, but the Dark Angels did not feel like they had a chance here. This mission did not seem well balanced. Please make further mission so either side has a legitimate chance of winning. Especially since the dark angels ESCAPED last mission and now they’re just in another chaos ship? This entire mission felt designed to let chaos get the win and finish their ritual.

Amazing as always! I am loving these boarding action narratives. They combine all the best things about 40k and they’re just the right length to share with my kids too.
Beard – hats off to you for crafting this absolutely brilliant immersive story. And to all the gang for your infectious enthusiasm.

wow, fantastic as usual Beard, really looking forward to Ep4!!!
I have no idea how “copywrite” and other schnanigans work… but a series books/pdf downloads of “Beard Narratives” would be amazing to have in the “shop”….. food for thought 🙂
