Hi everyone, just in case you miss it in the video description, we filmed this before Rising Tide was even announced. Throwing away the game after filming and editing isn’t really viable, as it would be a waste of 16ish hours of filming and editing work, which we can’t really afford to do. Refilming couldn’t fit into the schedule either I’m afraid, so the only other alternative would have been no video this week, which obviously we don’t want to do 😅
Really loved this format with the third person behind the camera being a silent witness (apart from occasional belly laughs). It let Chef & Jinx shine. Great game. The Thousand Sons are really doing well after the changes with the cabal dice. Well played both
This was a great game. Perfect example as to why you don’t just give up if the first few turns don’t go well.
So after a long absence I have finally got time to sit down and watch battle reports again. Why is Lawrence so silent in this game? I quite enjoy the banter and engagement that the team has, so it kinda felt strange for the cameraman to not be participating as well.
In any case, great job Katie and Chef.
Great game love to see chef with sons win this game nothing against jinx I’ll just hate nids so much lol 😂 just great play by chef to pull the win out of the bag and definitely felt for him at the beginning with his saves 🙂 keep league reports up guys 🙂

Pathogenic slime is done at the start of the shooting phase.
For interactions between offensive and defensive strats: typically offensive ones are used “when a unit is selected to shoot” and defensive ones when “the unit is selected as the target”. The defending player knows which strats are used because they have to be declared beforehand.

Malevolent Charge is used ‘when the power is manifested’, so before you know how many mortal wounds you do.

I’m hoping the Hive guard get nerfed into the floor. They’re bad for the game, similar to end of 8th Imperial fists.

Rolling was good too, but not many mistakes made! Great to see a good player evolve!
Re: the end of game wrap up, Katy why not consider a Malanthrope as a 2nd HQ for the -1 to hit bubble – more protection for your Hive Guard…? You could still have a Broodlord for some combat counter-punch as well as lots more Gaunts.
Bit of an odd question, what happened to the intros with the current standings and a picture of the player? You enjoyed those.
Loved the game – espicially the ending where Chef says “Don’t touch me” – you can see Jinx’s eyes goin “…. nahhh, I’m gonna touch him” 😀
Also, she’s truly a student of the Spider – those 6s to save on the Hive Guard! Passing 50% is a bit much Katy 😀

Good game guys. I was convinced by the end of turn two that this game was over. Chefs rolls were abysmal in the first half, and hive guard mince up Thousand Sons. 3 squads of hive guards might be a bit much, as the list seems to lack a frontline that can hold. But that may just be a problem with Tyranids in general.
Good game guys, lots of ups and downs. But please don’t say math, it’s maths. You’re not Americans. Please speak English 🙂

you would think it was Christmas already not only Jinx and Chef but Chef playing Thousand sons just makes me happy can’t wait to see it.
