This is so stupid, and fun entertainment at that!
After a while I’m coming back to this… I know it was just a moment of fun and one shouldn’t read too much into the outcome, but between the video and many of the comments I think there’s a problem with the interpretation of what’s unbalanced and how to evaluate it. Abaddon, taken on his own, is definitely an incredibly strong model: he has flaws (movement 6, susceptible to psionic phase even if he has access to Khorne’s stratagem etc) but as well as being lethal he’s also a significant multiplier for nearby units, whether they’re Black Legion or not.… Read more »
Beard, I’d love to see black legion, lord with veilbreaker plate, teleport himself and a brick of 10 rubrics with flamers, pay 1 CP to give them iron warriors trait(as needed)so they ignore cover and just warp flame a whole unit accross the board that thought was safe with ap2 flamers ignoring cover!!
Just to see the face of you opponent would be totally worth it
I’ll enjoy this video very funny and shocking to see how good and tough he is and going to be very hard to take out on the battlefield
Great videos. Abaddon is so powerful, but this illistrated his weakness, psychic powers and mortal wounds. But on the real battlefield he would have a screen, but this shows how necessary that will be. He can’t just YOLO up the field like some people online are talking about.
Interesting ones to prove him would have also been:
Cult of Strife Razorbus /w precision blows
Cult of Strife Succubus /w Triptych Whip + competitive edge (or blows)
Cursed Blade Suicide Bus (CB warlord trait and relic incl. blast pistol and best +str. weapon possible)
Drazhar /w hatred eternal
Just for the laughs:

That was a lot of fun! Those dice rolls by Beard… could he (finally) be blessed by the Chaos Gods? Beard, we need a tactica with Abaddon in the list to prove both yours and his worth!

Shame we didn’t get to see the last two fights in the gauntlet. Hard to see, but looks like you had him lined up against the Void Dragon, and then… MAKARI??

Does this not just illustrate a problem I know you feel it deep down you know this is wrong?
With the opening of the Rift and Chaos becoming Ascendant, it makes sense that Abaddon is moving into Horus/Archaon levels as he’s fully revealed as the Chosen of Chaos. As such, the Damage Cap makes sense, when you consider that Gods and Avatars tend to have it. Aeldari and Tyranids could put him down pretty quickly, and the Nightbringer would kill him pretty easily. People think Abaddon is a Melee beast, just wait until Angron hits. I mean they wouldn’t do World Eaters without their Demon Primarch, would they?

I think this was also a perfect show case on how to deal with Abddomen. His shooting is pants and he can not deny psychic powers. If both opponents had started 24″ away from each other Abddomen would have been defeated much earlier but the video would have been less entertaining.

I see lots of comments about Abaddon being over powered but if any one in 40K is meant to be over powered shouldn’t it be him?! He’s the main antagonist in the fluff and should be force to be reckoned with.
Plus if you old like me you’ll remember the days where if he hit you with Drach’nyen you just died!Didn’t matter how tough you were or how many wounds you had left, just dead.

Abby might be THE lord of abs but you can’t deny he still is an armless failure, still thwarted by puny mortals who stood their ground even when the planet beneath them shattered. Come again, how many millennia, how many Black Crusades?

Abaddon rules. Moreover, since he has the Mark of Nurgle I think he can only be wounded at 3+ so he would have taken even less damage.
I’m sure he will get the Morvenn treatment and his cost will increas by at least 30 pts.
And people complained about the nid codex being broken! in all seriousness, this was a great video very funny, but god damn Abbyman needs a debuff.
