This would be a decent detachment, if there was a way to give out more judgement tokens. They need to revise the army rule to include the free judgments at the beginning of the game or they need to rewrite it somehow. If Votann went back to BS 3+ this would work, but then you would have to increase the points for the army across the board.
Thanks for review and the attempt at some cheer.. but yeah. This is a pretty awful detachment, not being able to interact with your army rule at all is a weird choice for an army who’s codex isn’t even on the road map.
overall I’d say there’s some really cool rules here that could be fun to use, however none of the strategems seem particularly powerful, other than fall back shoot and charge which you get in the index detachment anyway. +1 damage in melee is nice but only against big stuff and 2cp lets it down. 2 shot plasma guns is interesting but not game breaking and 6 inch deepstrike is honestly kinda boring at this point given how many different armies now have it. is the detachment rule just for ranged weapons or melee as well?
Hmm with no Judgement tokens off the bat I think we may struggle to get going again. You’re back to needing a Khal or 2. And not getting the benefit of the army rule until your own army is crippled. It sounds good but, I dunno.
I’ll try it for sure and see how it goes.
